The Cook Islander economy, with a population of approx 20 thousand (Census 2006) ranks 193rd in the world with a GDP PPP of $183 Million and GDP PPP per capita of $9,100 (as at 2005) vs $52,800 (2013) (United States) according to the CIA. Its currency is the Cook Islands dollar which is pegged at par to the New Zealand dollar. Like other banks worldwide, they offer savings accounts as well as term deposit accounts for fixed interest period deposits. According to CIA.gov its inflation was 2.2% in 2011.
